I combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. It’s not just what I do—it’s how I do it that sets me apart.
My philosophy of massage is that massage should not hurt. I never want my client to be cringing or tensing up against me - that’s not effective because muscles aren’t relaxing. There is a concept of good pain (“hurts so good”) vs. bad pain, and only the client knows the difference. I utilize open communication throughout the massage and educate my clients about pain science when appropriate.
-
Collaborative, honest, and straightforward. Some of my clients are neurodivergent or have cPTSD and I treat the session as an opportunity to work together.
If desired I let my clients know what I plan to do and why I’m doing it before we start. I’m open to clients telling me what they want and need, and if it changes during the session then we switch gears.
I’ve taken over 50 hours in continuing education about Trauma-Informed practice. My perspective aligns with Bessel van der Kolk, Peter Levine, and John F. Barnes. I’ve studied JFB MFR, and also with Kimberly Ann Johnson and Ariel Giaretto.

I am a light to medium pressure massage therapist. I will apply deeper pressure for certain techniques in trouble areas, like trigger point release, but I don’t do deep pressure full body massage.
